Day 1 Thursday: Athens
Arrival in Athens. Our assistant will be waiting you for the transfer from the airport to the Hotel. Take advantage of your assistant local tips and start a stroll through the center of Athens for a first taste of the city.
Day 2 Friday: Athens – City tour
The Athens city tour will be passing through the main highlights of the city. We start from Hadrian’s Arch and continue visiting the Panathinaiko Stadium (also known as Kalimarmaro), which was originally built in 329 BC, and where the first Olympics of the modern era were held in 1896. We continue to the main square of the city named “Syntagma ” square (Constitution), where the presidential guard is located. With its typical costumes, the so called” Evzonos ” make the change of guard in front of the Greek parliament and the Tomb of the unknown soldier. After we continue the panoramic tour visiting the Neoclassical buildings of Athens such as the College, the library and the Academy, and finally we will visit Acropolis and Parthenon, this magnificent monument built in 447 BC during the golden age of Pericles dedicated to Goddess Athena. We will appreciate the Propylaea, temple of Athens Nike, Erechtheum and all its magnificent constructions. After Acropolis we will visit the Acropolis Museum, a building of a modern architecture, hosting the unique antiquities from the Acropolis.
Day 3 Saturday: Cruise
Check out from the Hotel and transfer to the port to embark on the cruise ship. Departure at night and travel overnight.
Day 4 Sunday: Kusadasi Â
Arrival at Kusadasi, Turkey in the morning. Kusadasi is known for the historic sites of Ephesus and the home of the Virgin Mary, as well as famous beaches and the view of the Aegean Sea. Departure in the afternoon.
Day 5 Monday: Rhodes
In the morning arrival at Rhodes Island, the largest island of the Dodecanese Archipelago, also known as the Knights Island, due to being inhabited on fourteenth century by Knights of St. John, who built the Venetian Castle and the walls, that are now a World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Visit the old city center, the market and the typical streets, all around the castle which is one of the best preserved in the Mediterranean region. Enjoy the tastes and notes of this wonderful island.
Day 6 Tuesday: Crete (Heraklion)
The island of Crete is the largest island in Greece, where the Minoan civilization existed and the Palace of Knossos which was the political and economic center of that time. Enjoy the morning to walk around the ancient city of Heraklion, with the old Venetian harbor, and enjoy the wide variety of restaurants and bars, where you can venture out and experience the typical Cretan cuisine which is the basis of Mediterranean cuisine. Or visit the Museum of Heraklio and see the famous Phestos disc that with its mysterious symbols stamped on it, conceals its meaning until today.
Day 7 Wednesday: Santorini
Morning arrival at Santorini, famous for its spectacular views of the Caldera, the typical white houses with stunning views of the Aegean Sea. Around 1600 BC the island was the site of the Minoan eruption, which left a large crater named Caldera and was possibly the cause of the extinction of the Minoan civilization of Crete with a giant tsunami caused by the eruption. Another theory says that this was the origin of the legend of Atlantis. In the afternoon don’t miss the famous sunset seen in the typical village of Oia (pronounced Ia), where the sun seems to sink into the blue of the Aegean sea. Enjoy the afternoon and the night with the beautiful sights of the island.
Day 8 Thursday: Milos and Mykonos
The island of Milos is famous for the statue of Venus of Milos (now in the Louvre museum), the statue of the Greek God Asklepios, Poseidon and Apollo, where the last two are in Athens. Its position between the mainland and the island of Crete made ​​an important center of early civilization of the Aegean Sea. A volcanic glass called “obsidian” gave Milos a commercial meaning the island since 15 thousand years ago. The landscape of the coast of the island has volcanic origins and offers a unique style with sea caves, crystal clear waters, underwater passages. In the afternoon departure to the beautiful island of Mykonos which is known as the jet-set island. The island’s picturesque center with its characteristic cobblestone streets is called the “hora” and is the place to shop day and night, but also experience the famous nightlife of the island that lasts until sunrise. Enjoy your night at Mykonos.
Day 9 Friday: Mykonos
Free day in the island of Mykonos. Explore the island which has a variety of beaches and beach bars, each with different characteristics. In the afternoon, a walk through the narrow alleys of the center will unveil the charm and uniqueness of the island where you can see the famous windmills formerly used by the inhabitants, typical of the Cycladic architecture. In the evening enjoy a cocktail in one of the numerous bars scattered around the sidewalks. Departure to Athens in the afternoon.
Day 10 Saturday: Return
In the morning arrival at the port. Check out from the cruise and transfer to Athens airport for your onward flight.
